The International Platform on Sport and Development is a website dedicated entirely to the field of sport and development. It is an online resource and networking tool with a mission to be the leading hub for the sport and development community to share knowledge, build good practice, coordinate with others and create partnerships.

Women Win

Women Win, GHD’s partner in delivering Team Up, is a global multi-dimensional women’s fund guided by the vision of a future where every girl and woman exercises her rights. Its program, GRLS, supports all girls, including those from minority and underrepresented communities, through sports and play to help them build leadership skills and become better equipped to exercise their rights.

The Commonwealth Secretariat

The Commonwealth Secretariat advocates for the use of sport as a vehicle for development and peacebuilding. Their work focuses on how sport can be used to contribute to national development objectives and the UN Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda - a global agenda and blueprint that aims to end poverty, protect the planet and make sure all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

Laureus Sport for Good

Founded under the Patronage of Nelson Mandela, Laureus Sport for Good uses sport as a powerful and cost-effective tool to help children and young people overcome violence, discrimination and disadvantage in their lives. Over the past two decades, they have developed a global network of grantee partners and a worldwide charitable infrastructure.  They have also developed a depth of understanding and corresponding credibility in the field and are recognised as a leading organisation in the fast-growing sport for development community.

Beyond Sport is a global organisation that promotes, supports and celebrates the use of sport to address social issues in communities around the world. They do this through convening, supporting and advising the worlds of sport, business, government, and development on how sport can be used as a tool to achieve both social and business objectives.

The Centre for Sport and Human Rights

The Centre for Sport and Human Rights is a human rights organisation for the world of sport. The Centre's role is to work towards a world of sport that fully respects human rights through collective action and through the promotion of the Sporting Chance Principles.  The Centre's aims are threefold: support the prevention of human rights harms from occurring through sport; support access to effective remedy where harms have occurred; and promote a positive human rights legacy from sport and sporting events.

Sport4Development research (S4Dr)

Sport4Development research (S4Dr) is an Australian-based organisation specialising in research, monitoring and evaluation of sport-for-development programs and special events. Since 2002, this team has been involved in sport-based community development initiatives and health promotion projects in countries such as Australia, Sri Lanka, Israel and the Pacific Islands. They have been working with local and international NGOs, Government Agencies, Sport Associations and Ministries to develop local capacities and to achieve meaningful development outcomes for disadvantaged communities.

Foundation for Sport and Development and Peace

The Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation engaged in sport, development and peace. It promotes universal and Olympic values of friendship, joy of effort, fair play, respect, excellence and balance of body, spirit, will and mind as well as interdependence, sharing, love, tolerance, and equality amongst others.

The Foundation for Global Sports Development

The Foundation for Global Sports Development delivers and supports initiatives that promote fair play, education, and the benefits of abuse-free sport for youth. Sidewinder Films, a division of The Foundation for Global Sports Development, promotes this mission to a broader audience through ground-breaking films and documentaries.

Sport for Development (S4D Germany)

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) uses the approach of sport for development (S4D) to contribute to the designated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) like gender equality, good health and quality education. Their S4D resource toolkit gives you a systematic overview of S4D strategic approaches, topics, methods and tools. Moreover it aims to promote the use of sport as an instrument for development policy-makers and workers and to encourage teachers, coaches and multipliers to run S4D activities and projects.

Sport 4 Development Ireland (S4D Ireland) 

A dedicated portal and online presence to promote and raise awareness of the field of sport for development in Ireland and internationally. Sport 4 Development Ireland (S4DIreland) is a not-for-profit project set up to highlight that sport is used in a positive way to address issues in people’s lives both in Ireland and around the globe. It acts as a network and central communication hub for people and organisations that are interested and/or involved in using sport for development.

The aim and purpose of this German association is to support and initiate projects and organisations in the field of sport for development. In the area of development cooperation, they particularly focus on supporting monitoring and evaluation, recruitment of volunteers/interns as well as project management and financing.

Sport for Peace, Education, Empowerment and Development (SPEED)

Sport for Peace, Education, Empowerment and Development (SPEED) is a Sri Lankan national non-governmental organisation that takes on the dual role of creating an enabling environment for sports performance development and sports for peace and development as overarching drivers to create a stable and developed Sri Lanka.
